“At their core, signature Levitt venues are community-driven,” says Liz Levitt Hirsch, president of the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation. “The Levitt Foundation’s annual grants to these venues only go so far. That means it’s up to each individual community to support the free concerts.”
For many Americans, the average cost of a concert ticket is simply out of reach. With the signature Levitt program, people of all ages and backgrounds gather to enjoy 50+ free, family-friendly, outdoor concerts in their own community, all featuring a diverse array of acclaimed, emerging talent and seasoned musical legends. In fact, this year 21 artists who have performed on Levitt stages received GRAMMY nominations. And it’s the tireless programming, coordination and fundraising done on the ground by each Friends of Levitt nonprofit that bring these performances to life.
Now’s the time to thank your local Levitt with an end of year gift. And what better way to wrap up this season than with a gift that keeps on giving—bringing free, live music to you and your community!
The meaningful impact of the signature Levitt program is inspiring its growth, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.
