Summer is coming to an end—that means earlier sunsets, fall foliage and students back in school. But before the season turns, moms, dads, siblings, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles across the country are outdoors soaking up the sun together enjoying this Labor Day holiday.

With barbecues and fireworks happening all across the country, Independence Day just isn’t complete without festive music and the American flag! Check out this photo from Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks’ opening weekend in 2011, with Old Glory displayed for the 4th of July holiday. Local group Allentown Symphony Orchestra performed an exciting night of patriotic music, followed by fireworks lighting up the Bethlehem sky.
Levitt concert series continue to delight audiences’ eyes and ears this Independence Day. Tonight, Levitt AMP Utica kicks off its concert series with Los Angeles jazz-funk fusion band Groove Legacy while Doug Wimbish of GRAMMY-winning Living Colour rocks Levitt AMP Asbury Park as Wim-bash.

Have you ever conducted a stage full of professional musicians? This young lad has! Young audience members were invited up onto the stage to get a taste of what it’s like to conduct an orchestra during the Pasadena Symphony’s 2014 performance of Peter & the Wolf at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena. You never know when a dream might be sparked. Perhaps one day we’ll see him take the stage again!
This year, the impact of the Levitt concert season will be soaring to new heights (just like this adorable onesie-clad concertgoer at the 2015 Levitt AMP Bellingham Music Series). The upcoming concert season will feature 450+ free Levitt concerts in 21 towns and cities across America!

Even when covered in a blanket of white, Levitt lawns continue to serve as community gathering places.
We’re reminded time and again that Levitt venues are so much more than places to experience free, live music. They’re centers for community life—places where soccer fans can come together and cheer on their favorite teams, places where blind and visual impaired youth can hunt for Easter eggs, places where community members can bundle up and master their sledding skills…the list goes on and on!
As the late, great Maya Angelou once said, “How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!”
Today we honor the service and sacrifice of the men and women who’ve proudly donned a United States uniform. Thank you for your courage and commitment to defending the freedoms that we all hold so dear.
Veterans, we thank you for your selfless service—on this day, and all the rest.
