What’s your special place?

Everyone has one—whether old or new, small or large, personal or public—from a neighborhood restaurant, to a famous tourist attraction, to a local Levitt venue.

Now’s the time to share the places you love with the world! Throughout October, the #ThisPlaceMatters campaign by National Trust for Historic Preservation and Curbed celebrates the diverse spaces that characterize our neighborhoods, towns and cities.

What is #ThisPlaceMatters?

ThisPlaceMattersPinFirst started in 2008, the #ThisPlaceMatters campaign relaunches periodically to reiterate National Trust’s commitment to preserving places across the country. This month, they partner with national real estate blog Curbed to invite people to submit places of all kinds, preserved or not, connecting even more people with beloved personal landmarks.

The staff at Curbed and National Trust will also be sharing their favorite places every week in October. Check out Curbed’s feature on historic theaters across the country

How can I participate?

It’s easy—simply take a photo at a place that matters to you and upload it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #ThisPlaceMatters! You can also choose to download and print a free sign or request one in the mail to include in your photos—but ultimately, your story is the most important part of your submission.

Happy sharing!
