Levitt loves…healthcare workers

We’re filled with gratitude for all the selfless individuals working around the clock to keep our friends, family members, colleagues and neighbors safe during this global health crisis. Beyond our gratitude, these individuals also need our help right now. If you’re looking for ways to support and protect healthcare workers battling COVID-19 on the frontlines, please read on for suggestions.

  1. Stay at home.
  1. Respect social distancing. Work from home (if possible), avoid gathering with others and stay at least 6 feet away from others any time you’re in public.
  1. Call ahead before going to the doctor—many medical offices are now offering “tele-medicine” appointments.
  1. Donate essential supplies—like gloves, surgical masks and hand sanitizer—to your local hospital.
  1. Feed healthcare workers while giving a boost to local businesses. From programs like Verizon’s  “Feed the Frontlines” initiative to Pizza vs. Pandemic, there are a growing number of ways to support both your local care providers and business community.
  1. Make a donation to get health aid and protection directly to healthcare personnel. Places to donate include (but are not limited to) the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, the CDC’s Emergency Response Fund, Partners in Health and Direct Relief.
  1. Donate blood. COVID-19 has significantly reduced our nation’s supply, which is in need of donations by healthy individuals. Check your local hospital for more information.
  1. Contact your elected officials to help amplify urgent requests by healthcare workers for more PPE (personal protective equipment) and life-saving machines like ventilators.
  1. If you know a healthcare worker, reach out to see if you can safely help with grocery runs, childcare, meal prep…etc., if you are in a position to do so.
  1. Thank healthcare workers for their bravery, courage and service during this critical time.

We are all in this together, so let’s support the health of our local, national and global communities by supporting and protecting our healthcare workers.
