Happy #GivingTuesday! We’ve feasted, we’ve shopped, and now…we give!

From organizations that protect our environment and those that fight hunger to organizations that give scholarships and those that provide accessible arts programming (like free Levitt concerts!), there are countless reasons to be thankful for our nation’s extensive network of nonprofits that do incredible work.

#GivingTuesday is our chance to say ‘thank you’ to the nonprofits that enrich our lives.

Created in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the United States). Driven by social media, this movement has grown to support tens of thousands of charitable organizations across more than 70 countries. In 2015 alone, #GivingTuesday raised $116.7 million for charitable organizations around the world. With your help, this day can have an even greater impact on the nonprofit organizations we love.

Today, as you consider joining the fifth annual #GivingTuesday movement, we ask that you think back to the evenings spent on Levitt lawns. If listening to music under the stars with your family, friends and neighbors—free of charge—lifted your spirits, please consider giving back to the dedicated Friends of Levitt organization that brings free, live music to your community.

Each permanent Levitt venue presents 50 free concerts every year and is managed, programmed and supported by a local Friends of Levitt nonprofit—which means they need your support!

Why not kick off the season of giving with a gift that will continue to strengthen your community, one free concert at a time?
