We’re also excited by Bowie’s other latest venture: “Lazarus,” a new musical that opened off-Broadway last month.
Based on The Man Who Fell to Earth, the musical, co-written and composed by Bowie, stars Dexter’s Michael C. Hall as the alien Thomas Jerome Newton, a role that marked Bowie’s on-screen debut in the novel’s 1976 film adaptation.
Bowie joins a growing list of famous musicians who’ve composed the lyrics and/or orchestration for musicals that includes U2, Sting, Cyndi Lauper and Elton John.
Happy Birthday to the musician, actor, innovator and musical theater composer!
